Grace Geddess Davis was the great-niece of George Washington Westwood [1804-1897] of Baltimore. He bequeathed to her in 1889 a portrait (now in the NGA) of himself and his two brothers, sons of John and Margaret Westwood, which was painted c. 1807 by American naive artist Joshua Johnson. Grace in turn passed the picture to her sons (before 1955), George Harvey Davis and Howard G. Davis, both of Baltimore.
