Fessenden, Franklin G., Judge

American, active 1879

Biography

Judge Fessenden was an admirer of the Greenfield painter George Washington Mark's work, and served as executor of the latter's estate. Many of Mark's paintings passed to Fessenden after the artist's death. Fessenden had a daughter, in whose barn atelier in Greenfield these paintings were stored for several years after his death. They were eventually sold by his estate administrator, Charles Stoddard.
