Artist, Dutch, 1620 - 1691

The image shows a landscape from an elevated viewpoint with a broad perspective of the countryside. The horizon is in the upper third of the composition with hills, a cluster of buildings, and a church steeple. The brushstrokes are loose and flowing, creating a soft texture for the clouds in the sky. The color palette is muted and earthy, with browns and grays. The rolling hills in the foreground are dark brown, fading into lighter shades in the distance.
