    The image shows the upper body of a woman seated with her body slightly angled to the side. Her head is tilted to her right shoulder and she is looking directly at the viewer. She has delicate facial features including a softly rounded face and subtle eyebrows. Her hair is partially covered by an elaborate hat with ruffles or floral decorations. She is wearing a detailed flowing garment, possibly made of silk-like fabric, which drapes around her shoulders and arms. In her left hand, she holds a piece of paper or lace. The background is dark with faintly visible furniture or structures behind her.
