    This image is a portrait of Francis Bacon, Viscount St. Alban. He appears in the upper half of the portrait, standing with his body slightly turned to the right. One of his hands is resting on an object covered with a decorative tassel. Bacon's face is turned towards the viewer, showing a calm expression with a neat mustache and beard. He has fair skin and shoulder-length hair under a large, wide-brimmed black hat. He is dressed in an elaborate outfit, including a dark robe or coat with intricate embroidery on the sleeves, edged with light-colored lace. Bacon also wears a dark garment and a ruffled collar around his neck, typical of 17th-century fashion. There are no visible jewels on him. The background features textured fabric, likely drapery, adding to the formal and opulent setting of the portrait.
