The image shows a port town viewed from an elevated angle. The horizon is visible with ship masts. A fortified wall with an arched gateway is on the left, with figures passing through. Beyond the wall are structures with various roofs. A tall tower is centrally located. The scene is busy with people on horseback and engaging in trade. The brushstrokes are loose, creating a textured appearance. The color palette is muted, mainly browns and ochres, giving an antique feel.

The image shows a landscape with architectural ruins, likely of classical origin, visible from an elevated point of view. The horizon is positioned higher in the frame, revealing distant buildings and a faint mountainous outline against the sky. Close to us, figures and animals traverse a path leading up to a large structure reminiscent of an ancient Roman triumphal arch on the right side. The brushstrokes in the image are loose and fluid. The color palette consists of sepia tones, highlighted with shades of brown and beige.
