Another man is on the left, gazing to the side with his left elbow on the edge of the basket. Between them, a seated woman faces forward with her head slightly tilted. The woman has curly hair with a feathered hat, while the men have powdered hair typical of the 18th century. The man on the right wears a formal coat with decorative buttons, and the man on the left wears a coat with a high collar and a cravat. The woman wears an elegant dress with a high, frilled neckline. The basket is decorated with fabric and fringe, and netting surrounds its lower half. Ropes and material imply a balloon above the basket. The background depicts etched lines resembling clouds.
