The image displays a landscape with a valley stretching out from an elevated viewpoint. The horizon is depicted high in the frame, showing rolling hills and distant scenery under the sky. In the middle to lower section, there is a stylized river or waterway portrayed with flow lines depicted through sweeping and parallel lines, suggesting motion. The drawing style shows visible pencil strokes and some shading for depth. The color scheme consists of shades of blue, gray, and dark tones for shadows. Tree lines on either side of the riverbanks lead the eye towards the winding river disappearing into the distance under the hills.
