The image shows a rugged coastline with a rocky shore on the right. The sea and sky have a grey-blue hue, suggesting a stormy or overcast atmosphere. Waves are crashing against the rocks. A ship with a tilted mast is partially submerged in the water. The brushstrokes are delicate and soft, creating a misty effect. The color palette includes muted grays, blues, and earthy browns.
