Painter, American, 1800 - 1888

In this painting, two large pears are placed side by side on a wooden surface. The pears are predominantly a pale-yellow color, but there are areas of light pink and red. The pear on the left is larger and set upright, while the pear on the right is shorter and angled slightly downward, away from us. They both have light green stems. Both pears cast reflections on the wooden surface beneath them. Behind the pears is a plain gray wall.
