The image shows a landscape scene from a slightly low point of view. The horizon is low, with bushy silhouettes and a gentle hill stretching across, beyond which rises a starless sky. A large tree occupies the left side of the scene, its trunk and branches rendered with thick brushstrokes. The moon is slightly off-center towards the upper right, casting a muted glow. The brushwork in the sky is fluid, with sweeping strokes. The color palette is monochrome with varying shades of black, grey, and white.
