Overview: 19 still lifes by 17th-century Dutch artist Adriaen Coorte were presented in this first exhibition in the United States devoted to his work. The exhibition, which included loans from public and private collections in Europe and the United States, marked the Gallery's acquisition of its first painting by Coorte, Still Life with Asparagus and Red Currants (The Lee and Juliet Folger Fund).

Organization: The exhibition was organized by the National Gallery of Art, Washington. Arthur K. Wheelock Jr., curator of northern baroque paintings at the National Gallery, was the curator.
