Overview: Shown were 58 paintings primarily by 19th-century French and American artists, including Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Gustave Courbet, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Thomas Eakins. Construction of a new art complex in Northampton made it possible for these works from the Smith College Museum of Art to travel.
