National Gallery of Art to Temporarily Close November 21

Washington, DC—Out of an abundance of caution and in response to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the region and across the nation, the National Gallery of Art will temporarily close its doors to the public beginning on Saturday, November 21. This affects both the West Building and the Sculpture Garden.

We are continually evaluating the situation and will notify the public as soon as we can reopen the National Gallery safely. In the meantime, we continue to offer ways to engage with our collection virtually—through new perspectives shared on our website, through our social media channels, and in our online programs.

We will share updates on this website and via our weekly newsletter and social media channels.

We look forward to welcoming visitors back as soon as it is safe to do so.
