The National Gallery of Art Library is a major national art research center serving the Gallery's staff, members of the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, visiting scholars, and the scholarly community at large.

Library Catalogue Online

Most scholars’ and students’ investigations begin with Mercury, the online catalogue of books and journal titles owned by the library. Sections of the catalogue further index resources such as auction catalogues, proprietary databases, and full-text services and provide links to art history resources on the web.
