Peter Humfrey

Peter Humfrey is emeritus professor of art history at the University of St. Andrews, where he taught from 1977 until his retirement in 2012. He is the author of numerous publications on Italian Renaissance art and has served on the committees of several major international exhibitions, including two at the National Gallery of Art (Lorenzo Lotto: Rediscovered Master of the Renaissance, 1997–1998; Bellini, Giorgione, Titian, and the Renaissance of Venetian Painting, 2006). He is guest curator of the exhibition on Vittore Carpaccio to take place in Venice and Washington in 2020–2021.
