Publication History

Published online

The publication of Facture volume 7 relies on collaborations with and contributions from many individuals. To all, we express our profound gratitude.

At the National Gallery of Art, very special thanks are due to Lena Stringari, chief of conservation, for her support as the journal transitioned from print to digital, as well as to Tyrese Davis and Suzy Sarraf in conservation, who kindly assisted with administrative responsibilities. Thanks are also due to Robyn Bortz, Carolyn Campbell, Martin Franzini, Emily Leffler Schulman, Andrew Rasner, Aemilia Techentin, and Deanna Wood for creating and launching our digital volume, and to Emily Koller-Apelskog, who oversaw image permissions.

Many generous individuals contributed expertise and provided vital support. We would like to thank Joseph Ackley, Wesleyan University; David Bomford, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Emilie Boone, New York University; H. Perry Chapman, University of Delaware; Laura M. Giles, Princeton University Art Museum; Arlen Heginbotham, J. Paul Getty Museum; Cyntia Karnes, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco; Narayan Khandekar, Harvard Art Museums; Lance Mayer and Gay Myers, conservators, New London, Connecticut; Joseph Padfield, National Gallery, London; Sylvie Pénichon, Art Institute of Chicago; and Giorgio Trumpy, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Gjøvik.

The continued success of this biennial journal depends on steadfast commitment by additional colleagues from the National Gallery of Art to whom we are deeply indebted. Members of the editorial board put in long hours to ensure the success of the volume. Noel Kassewitz deserves a huge thanks for keeping all the moving parts organized. In the department of brand strategy and publishing, Lisa Shea, Tracy Kompelien, Jasmine Lee, Peggy Martin, Christina Wiginton, and Emily Zoss expertly prepared layouts and texts for the publication, which was skillfully edited by Sheila Berg.
