This image features a crowd of people, predominantly men, in various positions in a street scene that suggests a conflict or uprising. In the center is a man standing confidently with a rifle in his right hand, wearing a military-style uniform with a tall hat and gesturing with his left hand. Nearby are a few children in period clothing, one reaching out towards the man. Other men in the scene wear different hats, and there is movement with some crouching or running. In the background are more people, a haze of smoke or dust, and faint outlines of buildings. The image is monochrome and appears to be engraved.
