The image shows a group of people with two women in the foreground. The women are walking side by side, their bodies facing forward as they stride ahead. The woman on the left has long, wavy hair styled voluminously and wears a dark, full-length cloak with ruffled edges over a dress with layers of fabric, including a visible underskirt with a light trim. The woman on the right has similar voluminous, wavy hair and is dressed in a lighter-colored gown beneath a cloak, draped over one arm as she walks. They both have shawls or capes and wear fabric headdresses or bonnets.

In the background are several men dressed in long coats and top hats, with minimal facial detail, and some with moustaches. The scene is sketched in a monochrome palette, with shadows and lines creating texture and form. The background is moderately detailed, focusing on the crowd surrounding the central figures.
