The image displays an illustration of a man's upper body. He is slightly turned to the right, with his head angled left. The man has a mustache, beard, deep-set eyes, and expressive facial features. His headwear features large feathers and his clothing appears loose and voluminous, hinting at an earlier historical period. He holds an ornate head accessory. The background consists of crosshatching lines. The image is signed by the artist and dated "1778" at the bottom.
