The man has facial features including a pronounced nose and a beard. He has sparse, graying hair and wears a draped garment. Fabric surrounds him as he is seated comfortably. In his lap, there is a dark hat. The background is textured and dark, contrasting with the lighter depiction of the man. The image is signed with elegant penmanship at the bottom right.
