The illustration shows a person standing with arms extended slightly outward. The individual has defined facial features with a neutral expression, framed by dark, curly hair partially obscured by an oversized headpiece or bonnet. The bonnet is elaborately styled with pleats and a contrasting combination of green and brown colors, and a lace trim can be observed around the face. The person is dressed in a vibrant red garment with voluminous sleeves, along with a grey over-apron or skirt, and beige material wraps the lower legs and feet, leaving the toes exposed. Around the neck, the individual wears a choker or band. In the background, the figure appears sketched on a blank, neutral-colored canvas, with a smaller depiction of the same bonnet design floating to the right side of the main figure. The image includes a signature in the bottom right corner.

More About this Artwork

This painting depicts an angel in flight, facing the left and playing a trumpet. The angel's wings are spread out behind them, and their feet are extended out horizontally to the right. A small rod or post extends downward from the torso of the angel. The angel is entirely painted in shades of yellow, reddish-brown, and gray, reminiscent of weathered metal with patches of rust. Small rivets are visible at joints and edges of the angel, which appears to be comprised of small panels. The background of the painting is plain beige paper.
