The image displays a seascape portrayed in a linear style with careful brushstrokes. The horizon is central, separating the sea and sky. Two ships with sails and flags are visible on the horizon. In the center, a figure resembling a mermaid plays a horn in the water. Rocks frame the scene on the right. The color scheme is monochrome with cream paper and dark ink.
