Provenance

Recorded as from New York State.[1] Purchased in 1949 by Edgar William and Bernice Chrysler Garbisch; gift to NGA, 1953.
[1] This portrait was undoubtedly "found" together with 1953.5.37 (Woman in Red Arrowback Chair) in upper New York State, but donor records do not make this qualification.
