Artist, French, 1592 - 1635

The man is walking in an angled position, leaning slightly forward. He has rugged facial features with a bushy beard and hair peeking out from under a hat adorned with a long feather. He wears loose, worn clothing, including a long-sleeved tunic with tattered edges, baggy pants that gather at the ankles, and simple footwear. He carries a large flag or banner that reads "CAPITANO DE BARONI" on his back, draped over a stout bag suspended from a pole resting on his shoulder, which he holds with his right hand. The background features a bustling scene with various figures engaged in activities. There is a church-like building and rocky formations with sparse trees visible, suggesting a village or small town setting.
