The image depicts a point of view from beneath a large arched bridge. The viewer is positioned as if looking out from the shaded area created by the structure. The horizon is lined with various small buildings and another smaller bridge over the river. The horizon is low, providing depth to the scene. The print features detailed lines and cross-hatching to show texture and shadow in the architecture. The color palette is monochromatic, using black ink against a lighter background. Closest to us are several figures, creating scale and contrast with the man-made structures in the distance.
