The image is an etching showing the upper half of a person's body. The person is positioned slightly facing towards the right side of the image, with their head tilted downwards. Their facial features are heavily shadowed; they have a prominent nose and chin. They are wearing a tall, slightly bent hat with a feather sticking out. Their hair is not visible under the hat. The clothing is a loose, heavy, and textured coat, with layers suggesting an older style and possibly a cloak or cape draped over one shoulder. They are holding a large stringed instrument with their left arm, which is tucked under their other arm. The background is a simple, textured surface with the artist's signature and the year 1647 visible to the right of the figure.
