This is a drawing of a historical execution scene. It shows a large gathering of individuals around a central scaffold. The structure is a high wooden platform crowded with onlookers. Some are standing on horseback, others on foot. There is a raised stage where two figures are standing, one holding a raised object. The crowd appears engrossed in the event, with a sense of anticipation or observation. The surroundings include medieval style buildings with towers, and the scene includes many soldiers or guards holding long pikes. Rich details in the architecture and attire of the figures are shown in intricate line work.
