German 16th Century

Associated Names
This is a painting of a crucifixion scene with a central figure on a cross and two figures standing on either side, all adorned with halos. The scene is set against a backdrop of clouds and greenery, with a skull and bones at the base of the cross. The figure on the right is holding a book or scroll, and all figures are draped in richly colored garments, primarily blue and red. The use of lines and colors is characteristic of woodcut prints, giving the artwork a textured and detailed appearance.
