August Sander

Artist, German, 1876 - 1964

The image has a misty forest scene with fallen leaves on the forest floor. The trees have hooded branches creating a pattern overhead. The horizon is obscured by dense fog blending with silhouettes of trees and foliage. There is no distinct horizon line visible as the mist envelops the scene. The color palette is monochromatic, with shades of grey and black highlighting the texture of wet leaves and tree branches.
