The black and white colors give a timeless and somber feel to the scene. The background hints at more foliage and tree trunks extending further.

She is sleeping with her head resting on her right arm and a pillow, and has dark, wavy hair framing her face. In the background, four people are seated around a small table, engaging in what appears to be a card game. They are captured in a side view, all wearing modest, mid-century attire. A man on the left is seated on a chair, dressed in a dark suit, while a woman to his right wears a blouse and short hair. Opposite them, a man and woman are seated as well; the man is in a shirt and the woman is wearing a sweater. The room appears to be modestly furnished, with patterned wallpaper, a bed covered in a floral blanket, and a dresser holding a photograph in a frame. The window in the background is covered with curtains, adding to the domestic atmosphere, and there is a lamp on a small table, illuminating the room.
