The image shows a bust of a man within an oval frame, depicting his upper body down to his forearms. He faces forward with a slight upward tilt of his head. The man has a furrowed brow, deep-set eyes, a defined nose, and a full beard. He has wavy, shoulder-length hair partially tucked under a cap decorated with a ribbon and a round ornament. He wears a loose garment with a visible undergarment, and holds a piece of fabric in one hand resting on a ledge. The background is plain, with engraved text, including the name "SOPHONIAS," and smaller inscriptions around the frame.
