New Jazz Underground

Modern jazz trio
A band, made up of three young men, holding their instruments.

Welcome the weekend with the New Jazz Underground. This young American trio takes traditional jazz and infuses it with Afro-Cuban, swing, hip-hop, and house/Afro-beat flavors.

Since their days at Julliard, Abdias Armenteros (saxophone), Sebastian Rios (bass), and TJ Reddick (drums) have continued to win accolades, receiving the 2023 DCJazzPrix™ and 2024 ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award.

Their videos have attracted millions of viewers and re-energized the jazz scene.

Registration is required for all ages 2 and above.

Broad strokes of paint create blocks of color in tones of emerald and celery green, topaz and sapphire blue, red, orange, bright yellow, white, and black in this abstract, vertical composition. A collection of peach-toned colors in the lower left quadrant could loosely represent a person. Other shapes give the impression of a room with a window and furniture, though details are left to our imagination.
