What to Know About Jazz in the Garden

Check out our tips for your evening in the Sculpture Garden.

  • Getting here

The Sculpture Garden is located on the north side of the National Mall between 7th and 9th Streets NW. You can enter from Madison Drive, Constitution Avenue, or 7th Street beginning at 5:00 p.m.

We recommend taking public transportation. The nearest Metro stations are Archives-Navy Memorial Penn Quarter (Green/Yellow), and Smithsonian (Blue/Orange/Silver). Metrobuses stop along Constitution Avenue NW. There’s no parking garage on our campus, and parking on the surrounding streets is limited.

  • Seating

    • Seating is first-come, first-served, and mostly on our grass.

    • We recommend bringing a blanket or small folding chair to sit in the grass, but please no tents, large folding tables, or beach umbrellas.
  • Food and drink

    • Refreshments will be available for purchase, and visitors are welcome to bring their own picnics, but outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited and will be confiscated.
  • Other visitor policies

    • Bicycles and scooters may not be brought into the Sculpture Garden during these events. Please secure them at one of the racks located near the Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive entrances. Skates and skateboards may not be used in the Sculpture Garden.

    • Only service animals are permitted inside the Sculpture Garden.

    • Firearms and other dangerous or deadly weapons are strictly prohibited.
