Still from Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush, courtesy of Janus Films
Join us for the centenary celebration of The Gold Rush, written, produced, directed, and starring Charlie Chaplin in his iconic Little Tramp character. This silent comedy is about a prospector who travels to Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush. He overcomes avalanches, starvation, and competition from outlaws to ultimately win the greatest treasure of all: the heart of the woman he loves. Featuring an orchestral performance of the score Chaplin composed for his 1942 sound re-edit of the film, reconstructed and conducted by Timothy Brock. With thanks to Janus Film for the loan. (Charlie Chaplin, 1925, DCP, 95 minutes)
