The image depicts a group of people in an intimate family setting. A woman, seated to the left, is shown from the waist up, cradling an infant in her arms. The baby is reaching upward with one hand. Beside her, another child stands, pointing to the right, revealing curly hair. Two young girls stand on the right, one of whom interacts with the infant by holding its hand. The background is richly decorated with heavy drapes and a twisted column featuring a sculpture.
