The image shows a seascape with a dramatic sky and water. The horizon divides the sky and sea. Heavy clouds are depicted with bold brushstrokes, contrasting with lighter areas suggesting breaks in the clouds. The predominantly monochrome palette of blacks and greys is broken by a patch of white reflecting off the water at the center. The play of light and shadow gives depth to the scene and captures its moody nature.
