Painter, British, 1838 - 1923

This painting shows a cluster of grapes hanging from a vine with green leaves and thin tendrils which appear to loop around a gray nail at the top of the painting. The grapes are mostly painted in deep reds and purples, although some are pale yellow. The background is cream-colored, and the grapes and leaves cast gray shadows behind them.
