The image shows a group of men gathered outdoors. Several men are seated while others stand around them. The central figure, seated on the left, is shown in profile, resting his chin in his hand, wearing simple, loose clothing with a hat, and holding a stick in his other hand. His features are drawn with narrow eyes and a prominent nose, with short hair showing beneath the hat. To his right, another seated man faces forward, leaning slightly with his elbows on knees, wearing similar attire with a head covering and holding a cane or stick. Standing around them, a few other men are shown in discussion, engaged with one another, each dressed in typical rural wear of the time, including simple shirts and pants, some wearing hats or caps. The background features a sparsely detailed landscape with a few trees, depicted in a sketch-like manner, giving an impression of a natural, open-air setting. There are no visible pieces of jewelry or other objects apart from the canes or sticks some figures hold.
