The image shows a woman seated on an ornate, upholstered chair, viewed in profile from the thighs upwards. Her posture is slightly reclined with her elbow resting on the chair's arm, while her head is turned to the side. She has dark hair styled with a voluminous shape and a fringe across her forehead, partially covered by an exaggeratedly large hat. Her facial expression is contemplative, with a defined nose and high cheekbones. She is wearing a voluminous dress with a high collar and what appears to be a shawl or additional fabric draped over the chair. The dress features soft, flowing lines that suggest a turn-of-the-century style. The background is an abstract, shadowy representation with muted tones.
