This image shows a hillside neighborhood with densely packed wooden houses built on varying levels. The hill is steep and rugged, with houses stacked almost haphazardly as they climb upwards. The view is filled with layers of buildings against a sky with swirling clouds and utility poles with lines running through the composition. The artwork uses lined etchings and cross-hatching for a textured look. The color palette is monochrome, emphasizing the detailed line work and textures. A figure with a basket or sack is walking in the foreground, while other people can be seen climbing stairs or resting. In the distance, more houses are nestled on the incline with smoke rising from chimneys.
