The image shows a scene with a river and a bridge. The skyline of a city is faintly visible above the bridge. The brushwork consists of fine lines creating movement and texture. The use of etching or pen creates a black and white look. Trees and foliage are on the right with diagonal strokes. A boat moves along the river on the left. In the distance, buildings and possibly church steeples and a dome suggest an urban landscape. Clouds above cast light on the scene.
