The image shows a historical ruin in a pastoral landscape. The view is at eye level, showing an expansive scene with the horizon high in the composition. The ruins occupy the middle ground, with walls and towers in a state of decay. A detailed tree is on the left, extending towards the middle of the scene. The style appears to be an etching or engraving, evident in the fine lines and shading. The color palette is monochromatic, using sepia or brown tones. Figures and animals can be seen nearby, including a man leading a cart drawn by horses. The castle ruins dominate the background with trees and vegetation visible. The sky is partially cloudy, adding depth to the scene.
