He is dressed in a buttoned-up garment with visible seams and a layered collar, detailed with buttons. His left hand is near his chest, holding a rolled document or scroll. The background is a textured oval shape enclosing the portrait within a rectangular frame labeled "SHYLOCK" at the top, with a decorative flourish at the bottom containing a quote. The border around the image is plain.
