Artist, Welsh, 1810 - 1882

The image shows a pathway winding through a wooded area. The perspective is from a point along the path looking forward as it disappears into the lush scenery. There is no visible horizon, as the eye is led further along the path into the foliage, where trees obscure the view. The scene is captured in black and white. The trees on either side of the path have dense foliage, with trunk textures and leafy vines visible. Light filters through the treetops, creating dappled shadows on the path and adding depth to the image. A bridge in the distance suggests a continuation of the path.
