The image shows a view from a slightly elevated vantage point over a dark landscape with trees. The horizon is obscured by the meeting of trees and the sky, mainly on the right side. The piece features intricate brushwork with fine swirling lines creating texture in the sky and land. The color palette consists of dark browns and blacks with lighter hues providing contrast and highlights. A large, gnarled tree is prominently featured on the left, with twisting branches. In the distance, faint windows of light in a cabin or building are visible among the dark woods.
