The image depicts an elevated view of a street lined with buildings on both sides. Towards the top of the image, a cloud of smoke or dust rises on the horizon. The etching work is detailed with precise lines characteristic of Jacques Callot's style. The color palette is monochromatic with shades of brown and sepia tones. In the foreground, a crowd of figures fills the street, engaged in a tumultuous event that extends into the distance, framed by architecture on both sides.
