The image shows a full-body illustration of a man standing with his legs slightly apart and his body turned towards the viewer. He has a moustached face with a firm expression and is adorned in a wide-brimmed hat with a sweeping plume. His hair appears voluminous and flows down from under the hat. The man is dressed in an elaborate outfit featuring a ruffled collar, a fitted jacket with buttons down the front, billowing trousers, and boots that gather at the ankles. He clutches a sword scabbard in his left hand, with the hilt visible under his right arm. The background depicts a scene of horseback riders and a distant landscape. There is an artist's signature, "Callot," in the lower left corner of the image.
