Artist After, French, 1592 - 1635

The image shows a stately manor or chateau with symmetrical architecture. The structure is positioned prominently in the center with two turret-like extensions on either side. A central staircase leads up to the entrance. The etching technique captures detailed windows and ornate architectural features. The color palette is monochromatic with soft sepia tones. A moat surrounds the chateau with ducks floating on the water. A bridge crosses the water where three figures are depicted, two in conversation and one playing a lute. Stylized trees in the background frame the scene, rendered with a consistent pattern of stippling.
