Artist, French, 1592 - 1635

The image depicts three figures within an architectural frame resembling a window or niche, supported by two columns. The central figure is shown from the upper thighs up, seated or resting with a slightly forward lean. This person has long, wavy hair and a beard, with closed eyes, and appears to be unclothed save for a cloth draped around the lower body. On either side of the central figure are two other individuals, shown from the waist up. The figure on the left has a veiled head and is turned towards the center. The figure on the right is similarly engaged, with shoulder-length hair and appears to be supporting or touching the central figure's arm. Both side figures are clad in draped robes. The image is monochromatic and has a textured background behind the figures, with the columns and architectural elements adding a sense of depth and structure to the scene.
